A very sad day for the SeaWorld family today as it was announced that their beloved Tilikum had passed away. The company had been caring for the animal for 25 years and it was expected that Tilikum was around 36 years old.
SeaWorld had this to say on the passing:
While today is a difficult day for the SeaWorld family, it’s important to remember that Tilikum lived a long and enriching life while at SeaWorld and inspired millions of people to care about this amazing species.
While it is true to say that Tilikum was at the centre of the Blackfish row, lets today remember a magnificent creature and how sad the trainers and carers must be feeling.
