Well, we called this one some time ago (in fact way back in August 2016) and it would seem that Universal has finally confirmed it.
Dragon Challenge will be closing to make away for a brand new thrill ride that Universal are describing as one of the most heavily-themed coaster experiences they have ever created.
The new coaster is yet to be named but we know it is going to take guests deeper into the world of Harry Potter where they are set to encounter a number of characters and creatures from the franchise with a new level of storytelling.
That’s about all we know for now apart from that Dragon Challenge will be closing for good on September 4th and this brand new coaster opening in time to compete with Star Wars Land in 2019.
It also appears to be staying as a coaster which is very good news!
