Last night on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon there were a whole host of new details revealed on the brand new attraction that is opening up at Universal Studios Orlando in the Spring.
The first of which is the opening date, April 6th!
Fallon then discussed a lot more of the previously unannounced details on what guests should expect to see when the ride opens in April. A few basic details that were announced last night alongside things we already knew or expected before we get into the really exciting stuff:
- The attraction will be in 3D
- It feels like you are in the shows audience, guests will sit in red seats as the audience does on the Tonight Show
- Both Jimmy Fallon and Steve Higgins will be present alongside The Roots
- Fallon will be in the “space age futuristic go-kart” that we have seen in the concept art (above)
Race through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon New Details
Jimmy then went on to talk about what guests would be doing on their race through New York. Here are some of the events that guests will see/experience/smell along the journey:
- Go whizzing past the Statue of Liberty
- Travel down into a subway
- Take a dip in the East River where guests will get wet (the standard 4D trick)
- A stop at a Pizzeria where guests will enjoy the smell of a New York pizza
- There are fireworks and also a visit to the moon within the attraction, yes you read that right, a visit to the moon!
All of this achieved by the new system that enables the seats and floor to move to achieve something that Universal are claiming has never been seen before.
I have to admit, though I expected a lot of this to be in place for this attraction, Jimmy has done a great job in building the hype for this attraction.
