Despite only being open a few months, Disney has announced that Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT will be getting a Halloween treatment from  September 15th to October 31st. The new experience is titled, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark.

This brand new story picks-up just after Rocket has freed the Guardians from the clutches of The Collector, only to realise that he left Baby Groot behind!

Rocket now needs to distract all the monsters he released in the first escape and enlists the guests to help while he rescues his little friend.

Joe Rohde, creative executive for Walt Disney Imagineering had this to say on the Halloween update:

The Monsters After Dark story hinges on irreverence, on top of the irreverence that’s already in the attraction. It’s creepy, chaotic and very funny.

As part of the transformation (that only occurs during the evening hours) the Collector’s Fortress will go dark with alarms sounding and lighting flashing up on the building exterior.

Inside the Lobby the alarms will continue to sound every now and again alongside sounds of some of the monsters that have escaped! A brand new song, Monsters After Dark has also been written for the experience. Tyler Bates who served as composer for both Guardians movies wrote the song.

This brand new limited Halloween experience sounds incredible and is a great way to enhance an already brilliant attraction.
