Walt Disney and the NBA have just announced some form of “NBA Experience” that is set to open up at the new Disney Springs at some point in the future.

Details of this new NBA Experience

While details at this stage are obviously sparse, Disney have said that the experience will be one-of-a-kind and will feature hands-on activities that will put families and guests right into the middle of NBA game action.

The experience looks to include video productions, various different interactive experiences as well as a retail store (no surprises there) and a restaurant. No details on what items are to be included on the menu of this new NBA restaurant but at a guess I would say to expect to see something similar to NBA City that is currently located at City Walk in Universal Orlando.

Current items that exist within NBA City’s menu include:

  • Steaks
  • Ribs
  • Jambalaya
  • Various salads and pastas
  • Sandwiches and pizzas

You can check out that full menu here.

As stated, menus haven’t been confirmed but this to me makes a lot of sense and would differentiate the restaurant slightly to competitors like Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Café and T-Rex restaurant.

Location Speculation of NBA Experience

Again, nothing has been confirmed by Disney at this stage but this experience sounds like it is going to take up quite a bit of space. My thinking at this stage is that Disney has a couple of options. Either this new experience can fit into the old parking lot of Downtown Disney or the rumours of Disney Quest closing are true.

What with the old parking lot space already being promised to the Town Center , you have to wonder just how much space Disney are going to have spare in this old area.

What do you think about this new announcement and what would you like to see from an NBA Experience at Disney Springs?
