Characters in Flight at Disney Springs is due to go down for a short refurbishment from January 9th – January 14th due the balloon itself requiring a replacement.
Don’t panic too much, any aerial tethered balloon like the one used for Characters in Flight needs replacing every few years in order to stop any issues from occurring. Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to 210,000 cubic feet of helium!
It will be interesting to see if the new design for the balloon will be more fitting with the current design of Disney Springs.
