When I thought of a show that would be replaced in 2017 in Walt Disney World, Wishes isn’t one that came to mind…
However, Disney has today confirmed that Wishes will end in May 2017 with a brand new show, Happily Ever After, set to replace it on May 12th.
The new show will include fireworks, lasers and castle projections and will draw on inspiration from Disney movies like Moana, Brave, Zootopia, The Princess & The Frog, Aladdin and Big Hero 6.
Disney has released a video explaining the show in a bit more detail:
Wishes at the Magic Kingdom will have one final performance on May 11th 2017.

In terms of my opinion, I am incredibly sad to see the show go, I am a huge fan of Wishes and it holds a strong place in my heart.
That being said, there are always positives and I must stick to my mentality that change at Walt Disney World is more often than not, a positive thing. It is incredibly exciting to see a brand new nighttime show debut at the Magic Kingdom and I am sure it will be just as good, if not better, than Wishes.
How do you feel about Wishes being replaced with Happily Ever After?
