Disney have announced that Splash Mountain is to receive a short refurbishment in January 2016. Now usually Splash Mountain has a refurbishment every year so that the attraction can be cleaned, water replaced and all the usual maintenance that needs to be carried out on an attraction that opened in 1992!
This year though guests heading to Walt Disney World in January 2016 won’t be as disappointed as the attraction is only going to be closed for 4 days! The attraction will be closed from January 10 to January 14 2016.
How Disney are going to be doing any significant refurbishment in this time is unknown to me, perhaps this is a sign that a much larger refurbishment is on its way later in 2016 or early 2017. The good news is that the likelihood of anyone missing out on one of the best attractions in The Magic Kingdom is next to none, though in January you may get bit cold!
