Join us for the 75th of the Theme Park Trader podcast!
This week Dan and I cover off plenty of the latest news:
Disney Changing Redhead Scene from Pirates of the Caribbean
Dan and I discuss the latest story that seems to have a lot of people online going into meltdown… Disney announced last week that the auction scene starring ‘We wants the Redhead’ Redhead would be removed and changed at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2018.
We chat through why we don’t think the scene change is that big of a deal despite us both being fans of the way it currently is.
Disney Testing the Offering of Gift Cards Instead of Mousekeeping Services
We heard news this week that at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort guests were getting the chance to receive $20 gift cards per night if they chose not to have their rooms cleaned by Mousekeeping on a daily basis.
We chat through what we would do if this test rolled out to every resort on property and you can read more on this story here.
More Nightly Extra Magic Hours for Pandora – The World of Avatar
Disney are extending nightly Extra Magic Hours for Pandora – The World of Avatar into August. We chat through what this may mean for crowds and Dan talks a little more about Pandora from his visit!
Magic Kingdom Closing Earlier for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Disney announced last week that instead of the park closing at 7pm for those without a ticket to the event, the park would be closing at 6pm.
We chat through what this means and why we think its a fantastic idea! More on the party hours here.
President Trump Confirmed to Have Speaking Role in Hall of Presidents
In the last bit of news for this week, Dan and I discuss why this topic isn’t actually controversial at all and why the real news is in Hall of Presidents delayed opening.
More on the delayed opening and the confirmation of Trump speaking.
Lots of other things going on this week as we get into a conversation about pumpkin spice (don’t ask) and we end the podcast on poor reviews of great theme park attractions! Given the recent news of Siemens dropping sponsorship of Spaceship Earth we thought it would be a good opportunity to read out poor reviews of one of our favourites!
