Join us for our 28th episode of the Theme Park Trader podcast!
This week we are joined by Anaïs who discusses her trips to Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando and also joins us to discuss this weeks news and for our first ever game of FastPass, Pass or Standby.
You can find Anaïs on Twitter here, an overview of the stories we discuss this week:
Guardians of the Galaxy Rollercoaster coming to Epcot?
A few weeks ago we reported that Guardians of the Galaxy may be replacing Ellen’s Energy Adventure at Epcot, the guys at WDWNT had further clarification on this rumour this week by stating that the attraction would be a rollercoaster. We discuss the rumour and chat about why despite being Guardians fans, it wouldn’t fit in Epcot in its current form.
Disney Files Patent for ‘Working’ Lightsaber
We discuss the news that this week Disney filed a patent for a Lightsaber that could deflect lasers from a flying drone and chat what this could mean for plans on Star Wars Land.
Animal Kingdom Reduces Nighttime Hours
Much to my annoyance (Anaïs and Dan also aren’t happy), Animal Kingdom announced last week that they would be reducing park hours at the park starting September. We chat through the possible reasons for this reduction. Hours are reducing from 11pm to as early as 6pm and you can see the full details in our post here.
American Horror Story Coming to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights
We chat through the announcement that American Horror Story fans have been waiting five years for, its coming to Halloween Horror Nights this year! This leads Dan, Anaïs and I to all give reasons (excuses) as to why none of us have attended one of the events in the past.
You can check out the trailer to the horror house here:
Disney May be Working on the Next Generation of MagicBands
If a record from the FCC is anything to go by, it would seem that Disney are working on the next generation of MagicBands that will operate in the same way as a Fitbit with interchangeable straps.

FastPass, Pass, Standby
To end this weeks podcast, Dan, Anaïs and I play our first ever game of FastPass, Pass, Standby where out of three attractions we have to select which one we would get a FastPass for, which one we would wait in line for and which one we would skip entirely!
