Yet more news on the huge expansion currently going on to transform Downtown Disney into Disney Springs.

This time news on what the old parking lot space is going to be used for. Disney have said that the new area currently being worked is going to be called The Town Center and will have a 1900s look and feel as well as having some larger brand shops.

Keith Bradford, Vice President of Downtown Disney stated:

As we expand into Town Center, which is being constructed now, you’re going to see some more of those national brands, a little bit larger-scale retail”.

It will be very interesting to see which “national brands” take up some of this new space and whether they manage to fit into the overall feel of Disney Springs.

Town Center will run from the existing World of Disney store in the Marketplace sector to the Planet Hollywood building. Knowing that this new area is themed on the early 1900s now makes a bit of sense as to why we are going to see such a huge makeover to Planet Hollywood. Without this makeover the look of the restaurant just wouldn’t fit in with the overall feel of the Town Center area.

What big name brands would you like to see make it to the Town Center? Alternatively, do you think Disney should be introducing big brands to Disney Springs?
