Disney has announced that a brand new show, Mickey and the Magician will be coming to Disneyland Paris starting 2nd July 2016.

Mickey and the Magician is a brand new experience designed specifically for the Paris park and will be replacing Animagique.

Disney had this to say on the new show:

“There will be an abundance of new shows in 2016 with the launch of a brand new production, Mickey and the Magician, at the Walt Disney Studios® Park from 2nd July 2016. This show, specially created for Disneyland Paris, will star the mouse who started it all, as well as iconic Disney Characters.

A sneak peek at the story: When Mickey is given the task of cleaning up a great Magician’s atelier, his dream to become a Magician himself takes over! An all-new adventure oozing with magic, starring the Genie from Aladdin, Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother, the stars of Beauty and the Beast and even Rafiki (The Lion King). An unmissable show for all the family!”

It is great to see that Disney are bringing in a whole host of different characters into the show and I am more than a little relieved to see that both Anna and Elsa are not on the list of characters set to appear (as of yet).

Disney has also released a piece of concept art of the brand new show:

Disneyland Paris are really upping their game this year, what with all the changes that are heading to the park over the next couple of years they have really stepped up and listened to fan feedback.

While I loved Animagique, I am looking forward to seeing what Disney can bring to the table with a brand new experience in its replacement. Let us know what you think of Mickey and the Magician in the comments below!
