Beginning on April 3rd, Disney are making some significant changes to security that should make guest flow into the Magic Kingdom a lot easier. So what’s changing?

Bag check for everyone has traditionally happened right in front of the main gate and entrance to the park, Disney are moving this to the Transportation and Ticket Center for the majority of guests.

This means that before even boarding the monorail or ferry most guests will already have had bags checked. Not only does this make walking into the park easier, it also makes the experience a lot more magical, especially for first timers.

Those staying in the Magic Kingdom hotels will have a bag check before boarding the monorail at their resort. A reminder, this will apply to:

  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Any guest staying at another Disney hotel will have their bag checked after disembarking from their resort bus.

Overall I think these changes are all incredibly positive, they will make entry to the park easier (especially in the mornings) and will help to improve the magic. No word just yet on updates to the other parks.

What do you think of these new security changes?
