Today Disneyland celebrates its Diamond Birthday, officially opening its doors to the world on July 17 1955. With it brought together Walt Disney’s dream of making his characters and movies come to life for the world to enjoy. Since that day Disneyland has changed a lot, going through many, many makeovers over the past 60 years whilst always remaining true to the original vision that Walt had for the park.

Disneyland went on to become the inspiration for every single theme park that Disney went on to create since, spawning locations across the world and eventually expanding into the Disneyland Resort in 2001 with the introduction of its second theme park, Disney California Adventure.

Disneyland has also introduced many innovations into the world of theme parks including revolutionary audio-animatronics, Circle-Vision 360 and the introduction of FastPass to name just a few.

Famous attractions that have been replicated across Disney’s theme parks include; It’s A Small World, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Disneyland truly has stood the test of time, always innovating but still keeping Walt’s original vision alive.  We would love to hear some of your favourite memories from the parks in the comments below, here’s to another 60 years of Disneyland!
