To coincide with the start of the new NBA season, Disney have unveiled concept art for the new NBA Experience coming to Disney Springs in Summer 2019.

The new building is taking the place of Disney Quest, on the West side of Disney Springs, which is currently being torn down. Inside will be “interactive games and competitions, immersive experiences, a retail store and an adjacent restaurant.”

The concept art released gives us the first look at the new building which is modeled on new NBA arenas with a modern look and feel. Outside will feature large screens and scoreboards, which reminds me a lot of the NBC Sports Grill & Brew at Universal’s CityWalk.

Disney Springs NBA Experience

Maribeth Bisienere, Senior Vice President of Disney Springs, had this to say about the new experience:

“We are inspired by the design of the new building and the energy that it will bring to the West Side of Disney Springs”

While NBA President of Global Partnerships, Sal LaRocca, recently commented on the project:

“This one-of-a-kind experience is sure to be enjoyed by basketball and Disney fans of all ages who visit Disney Springs from around the world.”

Personally, I welcome the removal of Disney Quest, particularly after the recent image change of Disney Springs, the building really looked out of place before. However, I feel like Disney have gone the other day with the new NBA Experience. To me the building is far too modern to fit with the new Disney Springs look and feel.
