Disneyland are slowly starting to play catch-up with Walt Disney World and have recently released an app that can be downloaded from the App Store and on Google Play.
Having just downloaded the app myself, it is certainly very similar in design to the existing Walt Disney World app, no mean a bad thing considering just how useful this app is.
It is very easy to swipe between the different elements of the app to find exactly what you need to see, points can be further expanded to get further information on and in the case of restaurants will take you to the website to enable booking.
Features of the Disneyland App
The following are all features that are now available within the new Disneyland App.
Wait times in real time
No longer do you have to rely on (usually unreliable) 3rd party apps or have to wander to either the attraction or the central location where wait times are. The app shows exactly how long you should expect to wait for your favourite attraction in real time. An example of this taken on my iPhone yesterday:
Attractions can of course be expanded on for more information:
Restaurant locations
Restaurant locations can be found with ease on the app and include all areas that contain food and beverages including the smaller drinks/popcorn stands.
Again it is easy to expand out the options to look for a table, though currently this does take you to the website and cannot be done in-app like the Walt Disney World app.
Character locations
If you wanted to find your favourite character in the park you can also do this within the app and the app includes all characters that have regular meet and greet locations at the parks.
Entertainment & shopping
All shows can be viewed within the app along with the time in which they are on, shopping locations are also covered along with when they open and close.
Those of you that love those extra tours that Disney offer, these are also visible within the app:
Additonal features
Park hours can also be looked at so you know how long you have left in the parks, tickets can be purchased (though only if you live in the USA or Japan) and annual passholders have additional features available to them such as being able to see when they are restricted and not allowed into the parks.
