While we have known about the expansion at Disney’s Caribbean Beach resort for quite some time (work has been underway for a while), details have been pretty scarce until now.
Disney have revealed more about the plans, here is a breakdown:
An Updated Check-In Area
Old Port Royale is going under some major changes and will be the place where guests check in before taking what Disney call, ‘an island vacation’. The location is very central to all of the other additions to the Resort being made.
Centertown Market Expansion
This area of the resort is being given a huge expansion with theming to represent an indoor street market and the quick service offering that many fans (including myself) love at Disney’s Caribbean Beach.
Shutters & Banana Cabana
A brand new table service restaurant will be opening, both food and decor inspired by the Caribbean. Right next door is Banana Cabana, a new poolside bar with a communal table made from an old wooden boat.
Calypso Trading Post
Last and by no means least, Calypso Trading Post will be the main location for Resort guests to find Disney merchandise and essential travel items.
