Disney’s Hollywood Studios is putting on a special ticketed event on April 14 to celebrate 40 years of Star Wars.

The event will run from 7pm to 12am with tickets priced at $129 plus tax for adults, and $124 plus tax for children ages 9 and under. Disney are also offering the standard discount for Vacation Club members and annual passholders.

The event very much feels like Star Wars Weekends crammed into the space of just 5 hours, here’s a rundown on what to expect on the night:

Rebel Base Activities

This is where the main hub for the event will be and will play host to shows, dance parties and other activities. The hub will be the centre stage in front of the Chinese Theater.

Star Wars Photo Opportunities

Disney are putting up some iconic Star Wars backdrops that guests will be able to take pictures with. These include:

  • Han Solo cast in carbonite
  • Jabba the Hutt’s Palace
  • Hoth Wampa Cave

Inside the Saga: Celebrity Chat Show

Not much has been revealed on this one, just that attendees will get to see a celebrity chat show about the making of the Star Wars movies.

Imperial March & March of the First Order

Both Darth Vader and Captain Phasma will be on hand to lead their respective stormtroopers through a march down Hollywood Blvd to the main event stage.

Galactic Nights Stars in Cars Motorcade

Star Wars celebrities will take part in a procession down Hollywood Blvd.

Interactive Scavenger Hunt

Guests will have the chance to collect Star Wars themed things from the photo backdrops that will be found across the park. Once every item has been collected Disney has promised a surprise will be revealed.

Performances of both Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular will also be showing on the night.

The following attractions will also be in operation throughout the evening:

  • Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple
  • Muppet*Vision 3D
  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
  • Star Wars Launch Bay
  • Star Wars: Path of the Jedi
  • Toy Story Mania!
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • The Great Movie Ride
  • Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Disney has also stated there will be additional characters roaming the park alongside special merchandise that will be available to purchase.

Dressing up as your favourite Star Wars character is encouraged for this event though as always, there are restrictions on costumes. Guidelines on costumes for this event can be found here.

Tickets are available to purchase now and are limited in availability. You can purchase them here.

While I love the sound of this event, I do think the tickets are a little overpriced for what guests are getting. A lot of the nights activities happen during the day at the park anyways. That being said, I would purchase a ticket for this if I was in Orlando around April 14.

It is unclear at this stage whether Disney will do this again in the future though considering Star Wars Celebration is running at the same time as this event, it is likely Disney are just borrowing celebrities for the one evening!

Will you be attending Star Wars: Galactic Nights?
