Atari has just released RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic onto Android and iOS for the ridiculously good price of £4.49 ($5.99). The game combines the best elements of the original RollerCoaster Tycoon with RollerCoaster Tycoon 2.
Chris Sawyer, who was the developer on the two original games and served as producer on this game, had this to say:
As the creator of the original RollerCoaster Tycoon PC games many years ago, I have seen how much excitement and entertainment they have brought to players all over the world. It was my long term ambition to bring the classic game to modern touch screen devices as its visual style and tactile nature are so well suited to smartphones and tablets.
The game offers a lot for the cost (around 95 scenarios) but there are additional purchases available that include:
- Wacky Worlds Expansion (17 scenarios) – £1.49 ($1.99)
- Time Twister (14 scenarios) – £1.49 ($1.99)
- Toolkit – £4.49 ($5.99)
