Satu’li Canteen will be the first ever restaurant to trial Disney’s new mobile ordering service when it opens on May 27th at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Simply called Mobile Order, the new system will allow guests to order and purchase food via a mobile device before getting to the restaurant so that the queue to order food is skipped entirely. All of this is done via the My Disney Experience app.
Once guests arrive on location at Satu’li Canteen they simply hit the ‘I’m here’ button on the app and sit down while the kitchen prepares the meal. Once ready, guests will be notified and they can simply pick-up from the designated window, brilliant!
There is one drawback, as it stands right now the payment option only accepts credit cards and is not compatible with the Disney Dining Plan. That being said, as Disney plans on rolling this out to other Quick Service locations across Walt Disney World, it is only a matter of time before the Dining Plan is integrated and credits automatically taken off.
