Following on from Disney banning selfie sticks first from all attractions and then from its theme parks altogether, Six Flags are next in the list of big tourist destinations to put a ban in place on selfie sticks.
The official quote from Six Flags:
“Nothing is more important to us than your safety. After careful review we’ve decided to prohibit selfie sticks, monopods, and similar devices at all Six Flags theme and water parks effective immediately. Guests who bring selfie sticks to the park will be asked to store them in their cars during their visit. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and thank you for helping us keep Six Flags among the safest theme parks in the world!”
This doesn’t come as a huge surprise, usually with something like this, when one big theme park does something, the others will follow. It makes a lot of sense for theme parks globally to ban selfie sticks, as mentioned before they are potentially dangerous, not just when riding attractions but to other guests when they are wandering around the park.
