New Style of Interactive Attraction Coming to Legoland California in 2016

Legoland California have announced a brand new type of attraction never seen before and is somewhat based on the popular gesture controls made popular by Kinect.

Ninjago the Ride will be heading to the park in 2016 and  is aiming to be ahead of the traditional attraction like Buzz LightYear Space Ranger Spin or Men in  Black Alien Attack that both use guns on the attraction vehicles. Instead, the Ninjago attraction is hoping to take on gesture controls as the primary means for guests to interact with the attraction.

During the attraction guests will be able to shoot fireballs, lightning, shockwaves as well as ice from their hands against targets and enemies on 3D screens. The attraction is also following the likes of Toy Story Mania by adding 4D effects that include heat, smoke and wind.

The attraction vehicle will support four riders and each rider will represent each of the main characters from the Ninjago franchise. The ride will take guests through several different dojos before guests are taken to the main battle, at the end of the attraction scores are given that are collected throughout the ride.

I think this attraction sounds awesome and while I am not a fan of Ninjago, the effects and new gesture controls sound pretty revolutionary for a theme park attraction and if I ever make it to California I will have to give it a go.
