So I can finally talk about this after learning about the announcement on Monday night at an official Universal press event. Seriously, keeping this secret has been one of the hardest things I have had to do, especially after so many of you were asking me on Twitter what we had learnt at the event.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space are back and this time Universal is creating an entire house for us to enjoy!

The 1988 cult classic was one of the most popular Scare Zones of last years event and it’s clear from the press event that Universal listened to fan feedback. In fact, the Scare Zone ended up being right up there among the most photographed location in the history of Halloween Horror Nights.

The original creators of the movie, the Chiodo Brothers, have been involved in getting this house perfect for guests and are apparently so impressed that they said they could film the sequel there! Don’t take that as confirmation that a sequel is in the works though…

We have seen inside the house and it looks absolutely stunning. Expect to see locations from the movie crop up throughout the maze, including several encounters with Klowns from the film. Universal also promised a return of interactive elements to mazes, expect things to happen when buttons are pressed here. I’m saying no more, I don’t want to spoil the surprise!

During the event, we also had our very own meet and greet with one of the stars:

I can’t wait for the return of Killer Klowns, I fell in love with the Scare Zone last year and from what we’ve seen in the house, it’s going to be brilliant.

A reminder that Halloween Horror Nights kicks off in Orlando on September 6th and runs until November 2nd 2019.
