A brand new Planet Hollywood quick service counter could be coming to Disney Springs in the near future after Disney Springs officials have reportedly given the go ahead for an expansion.
Planet Hollywood founder, Robert Earl, is looking to boost figures after the successful relaunch of the once popular restaurant chain. He said, “We’ve got the best location in the district right next to the movie theater and the car park”. He went on to confirm that he’s received permission from Disney Springs to expand by introducing a new quick service counter.
Alongside the new quick service offering, Earl is also bringing back the celebrity guest appearances that were once the norm. With a recent appearance from Britney Spears, and an appearance by Reese Witherspoon planned for tonight, “We plan to keep it up.” he said.
All of this can only be good for the chain, I have fond memories of visiting Planet Hollywood in it’s early years at what was Downtown Disney. When I visited the year before it closed for refurbishment, I had a good meal, but it really was a shadow of it’s former self. I look forward to revisiting when I go back to Walt Disney World in June.
