The Halloween season is well underway at Walt Disney World so I thought it would be good to share the costume rules in place to avoid disappointment for anyone attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year.
MNSSHP 2017 Costume Guidelines for Kids (13 and under)
Costumes and masks are permitted but the mask isn’t allowed to cover the entire face and the eyes have to be visible.
MNSSHP 2017 Costume Guidelines for adults
- Costume or props that cover the entire body are discouraged and will likely result in guests being checked more thoroughly by a member of the Disney security team.
- Costumes are not allowed to reach or drag across the ground
- Capes are permitted so long as they do not go below the waist
- Themed t-shirts, sweaters, hats and blouses are all acceptable
- Other acceptable accessories include wings, lightsabers, toy swords and tutus
- Headwear is acceptable so long as it doesn’t cover the face
- Masks are not permitted
There are also some general rules that apply to all guests:
- Guests can dress as their favourite Disney character but are not allowed to pose for photos with other guests or sign autographs
- Disney have the right to remove any guests wearing an inappropriate costume
- Costumes that may contain items that closely resemble a real weapon are not permitted, as are costumes that contain sharp or pointed objects that may cause harm to guests
