Unfortunately it would seem that the Writer’s Stop days are finally numbered as it has come to my attention that the last day of opening is tomorrow (September 25th).
While the establishment is known for its coffee, it is more famous for its carrot cake cookie. Don’t worry, this is still being made available at Sweet Spells on Sunset Boulevard.
Disney did previously state that The Writer’s Stop was on borrowed time and it would seem that the construction walls from the Star Wars expansion are getting ever closer, hence the need for closure.
I love The Writer’ Stop and it is a great shame to see it close, it may make a comeback when Star Wars Land opens but I don’t hold my hopes that high.
In the meantime, Disney has a number of pop-up bars (one specifically in Pixar Place) to cater for anyone wanting an alcoholic beverage and there is always Starbucks or Joffreys’ for the coffee fix.
