I was there in Florida a couple of weeks ago when Hurricane Matthew hit and although the central Orlando area was fortunate in that Matthew diverted at the last minute, other areas of Florida were not so lucky.

Matthew caused a lot of destruction as it moved across the state and to help this the Walt Disney Company has committed to at least $1 million dollars to help victims.

CEO Robert A. Iger had this to say on the storm:

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the children and families whose lives were impacted by this tragic storm

Disney’s money will not only help areas of Florida but will also go to other areas impacted by the storm including Georgia, Carolina, Bahamas and other areas of the Caribbean.

The money will go to local charitable disaster relief organisations as well as American Red Cross and Save the Children.

It is great to see Disney commit so much money to help victims of Hurricane Matthew.
