When Skipper Canteen first opened at the Magic Kingdom it took an unexpected move by not allowing advanced dining reservations. I thought this move was fantastic as it finally allowed guests who don’t like to plan months in advance a chance to eat at a popular sit down restaurant at the parks.

This format changed slightly in February by allowing guests by allowing same day reservations. Still something I was onboard with.

Now it would seem this restaurant is joining the same system as every other table service restaurant at Walt Disney World by allowing reservations up to 180 days before your trip. While I am a big fan of planning my trip in advance (tomorrow’s podcast is actually centred around the restaurants I have already  booked for my trip in October) Disney is increasingly becoming difficult for guests who don’t book months/years in advance or who hate planning.

What do you think about Skipper Canteen now allowing reservations 180 days in advance of a visit? I have to admit, I just reserved a table for my October trip!
