Way back in May, Universal announced that they were partnering with Nintendo to “bring the world of Nintendo to life at Universal theme parks”. Since then we’ve heard a few rumors around possible locations and possible new attractions based on patent applications, but nothing official. Well today, Universal and Nintendo have broken their silence and revealed what’s in store for their partnership.

Nintendo coming to Universal Studios

Nintendo-themed lands are coming to Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood! So far they’ve been very vague on details, with an announcement from each park coming soon. However, we do know that each land will feature multiple attractions, shops and restaurants, all themed to Nintendo.

The new areas will be “expansive, immersive and interactive”, and will allow guests to feel like they’re playing inside their favorite games. But don’t worry if you’re not a gamer, Nintendo have said “there will be something for everyone – regardless of their age or gaming experience level”.

Although details are sketchy, planning for the lands is well underway, and Universal have said that the lands will open separately over the “next several years”. What exactly “several years” means is not known, but once we hear more, you can be sure we’ll be blogging it!
