So you know how everyone always jokes that it won’t be long until the food booths are at Epcot all year round? It just got a bit closer to that with the introduction of Epcot International Festival of the Arts!

The festival aims to combine visual, culinary and performing arts from across the globe that will span six weekends from January 13th to February 20th 2017.

Each weekend the festival is set to feature new art which means no one weekend is going to be the same, great for annual passholders!

As next year is the first year of the festival, Disney are partnering with their Theatrical arm to showcase music over on the America Gardens Theatre Stage. While the full lineup is still to be announced, we have already seen confirmation of The Lion King, Newsies and Aladdin where songs will be performed from the hit musicals.

On top of the art and music, Disney are introducing more food to World Showcase with Food Studios. According to Disney, each dish will be so delicious and intricate that guests may struggle to know if the menus are art to admire, or food to eat. It certainly sounds intriguing!

As with other festivals held at Epcot, special seminars are going to be available alongside famous and favourite artists. The art will range from pieces of Disney historical art from Mary Blair and Herb Ryman, to current artists that include  Joe Kaminski and Costa Alavezos.

The good news is that the International Festival of the Arts will be included with standard theme park admission. This is exactly the kind of festival that fits in perfectly at Epcot and I can’t wait to see what it brings to the park Friday through Monday when it begins in January.
