After the first promo image was revealed last month Universal has finally given us more detail on the upcoming Jimmy Fallon attraction.

Attraction Premise

Opening in Spring 2017, guests will enter a complete recreation of NBC’s 30 Rock complex where Studio 6B (the location the show is recorded) is located. You can see a concept of the exterior of the attraction below:

Once guests have entered the building, a pre-show will take place in a club and guests can enjoy live performances of the Ragtime Gals barbershop quartet.

There will also be some of the beloved moments of the show on screens including Lip Sync Battles and History of Rap and a meet and greet with Hashtag the Panda.

The building will also be full of props and items from previous hosts of The Tonight Show which sounds great for longtime viewers.

Due to the immense popularity of the ‘Thank You Notes’ section of the show, Universal are also adding an interactive desk where guests can send their own notes to friends and family at home. All of this will lead up to a race with Jimmy through New York.

The Ride

After a briefing (presumably from Fallon himself), guests will board a ‘flying theater’ to begin their race with Fallon. Universal has said this will be the first of its kind and will seat 72 audience members.

Once seated, guests will race alongside Jimmy Fallon across the streets and skies of New York and will bump into a number of celebrities along the way, including Steve Higgins, the Tonight Show announcer.

The flying theater sounds very intriguing, I don’t want to compare it to Soarin’ but I do get a similar vibe from the description.

Although I was initially concerned that this attraction would be just another 3D ride at Universal, it has at least got my interest now and I am excited to see how this plays out next year.
