A lot of people still aren’t aware that this change is in effect but essentially Disney are now allowing guests to swap a quick service credit on the Disney Dining Plan for 3 snacks! The possibilities on this are fantastic but think specifically on the Epcot Food and Wine Festival…

For the past 7-8 years I have nearly always been on the Disney Dining Plan and for almost half of that time I have made sure I am in Walt Disney World for the annual Food and Wine Festival in Epcot.

Epcot food and wine festival 2015

One of the most cost saving ways for us to get around each of the different countries in World Showcase and to try out the different food on offer was to save our snacks up and use them all on the festival. While it was never possible to use snack credits to purchase alcohol (this is still the case) it allowed us to get more expensive items from the food and wine festival without us worrying about it eating into our money for merchandise etc.

It seems that we weren’t alone in doing this and that most guests would tend to do this around this time of year, if you aren’t doing this then I would strongly encourage it as you will save money, fact!

Turn Quick Service Credits Into Snack Credits!

As I mentioned, you will now be able to use one quick service credit to turn it into three snacks! This is  fantastic addition as quick service credits is always something I am leftover with at the end of any stay at Walt Disney World, we are usually too full from our sit down meal to be able to eat a quick service half of the time!

The one downside to this is that you have to use the credits in a single transaction so you can’t simply go to three different stops on the Food and Wine Festival and get one snack from each, it has to be the same stop. Works great for families but less so for people like me who are often in WDW as just a couple.

Still, I think this is a fantastic addition to the Disney Dining Plan and one that can be used anywhere in Walt Disney World and isn’t just unique to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival!
