Sad news for UK theme park fans, Chessington World of Adventures announced yesterday that the iconic Bubbleworks ride will be closing on September 7th, after 26 years in the park.

During it’s years in service, the ride has completed more than 15 million circuits, and entertained more than 32 million guests.

For those not familiar with the attraction, Bubbleworks is a children’s ride that invites guests to travel through a fizzy drinks workshop whilst sitting in floating bathtubs.

There hasn’t been an announcement as to what will replace the ride, but a spokewoman for the theme park said:

“We will be announcing in due course what new attraction we will be opening in 2017.”

“That is all we can say for now but rest assured it’s something we’re all very excited about and we’re sure you will be too.”

We’ll be sure to keep you all up to date when the news of the new attraction drops.

In the mean time, it would be great to hear what your thoughts are on this closure? Have they made a mistake closing a classic ride? Or is it good to see the parks being kept fresh with new rides? Or maybe you just want to share your stories of the ride, we’d love to hear them!
